18.1.2012 ROUTAKEHÄ TO PLAY A FESTIVAL SHOW IN SERBIA
Routakehä has been confirmed to play at Adrenalin Fest, a festival that will be organized in Becej, Serbia on Saturday 4.8.2012. There will be also five Serbian metal and hardcore acts performing at the festival. More info can be found at the festivals facebook page.

3.1.2012 ONE YEAR OVER, ANOTHER ONE BEGINNING
34 shows, three tours outside Finland, the release of the EP “Kaikkien Alkujen Loputtua” and several changes in line-up. Despite of the difficulties with the bands line-up the year 2011 was a very successful one for Routakehä. The year 2012 will be rushed through with at least the same amount of energy and enthusiasm.

 

Routakehä will begin the recordings of it’s third, yet unnamed, EP at the end of April. Yet you can see the band playing some live shows in Finland even before the release of the new CD. Routakehä will play gigs at least in Kuopio, Järvenpää, Jyväskylä, Lahti and in the bands hometown Laitila. First conformed shows are now added to Gigs section.

 

Info about the recordings and the release of the upcoming Routakehä EP will be revealed during February.

31.7.2011 FROM NOW ON ROUTAKEHÄ WILL GO ON AS A DUO
Routakehä’s long term gig bassist Aapo Grönlund, who also handled the vocal duties from the beginning of this year, and guitarist Roope Raittinen, who joined the band early this year, have both left the band. From now on the band will be solely run by the drummer Mikael Ruoho and the guitarist Antti Maantiehinno, who will also do all the vocals from now on.

 

Routakehä’s members comment on the changes: “This Fall Aapo will start his studies in Helsinki (220 km’s away from our hometown), so he will no longer have time for this band. Aapo is an amazing and talented musician, who always handled his duties as promised, so we have no bad feelings or memories about our years with him. The situation with Roope was a bit different. If a person cancels band rehearsals for reasons like a hangover, or doesn’t show up to practices at all, it’s needless to say, that his motivation is not on the right level. Routakehä’s goals and ambitions are on a such high level, that this band is not the right place for a person who’s motivation and behavior are on the described level. “

 

These line up changes won’t hold Routakehä back, but the band will continue on full speed ahead. The shows planned for this Autumn will be played with a live line up, and no permanent members are not even wanted at the moment. During this Autumn Routakehä will play shows at least in Raisio, Hyvinkää, Tampere and Laitila.

 

 

6.6.2011 ROUTAKEHÄ TO TOUR IN SPAIN, PORTUGAL AND GIBRALTAR
Routakehä will do a tour in Southern Europe for the second time during its career! The tour will start June 10th and it will include six shows, from which three will be played in Portugal, two in Spain and one in Gibraltar.

 

The tour was supposed to include eight shows, but two shows got cancelled from the organizers part. Last time Routakehä toured in Spain and Portugal in the summer 2010.

3.5.2011 NEW ROUTAKEHÄ EP IS FINALLY READY
After all the work, agony and line-up changes we are proud to announce, that Routakehä’s second EP “Kaikkien alkujen loputtua” (Engl. “After the ending of all beginnings”) has finally been released. This cd presents darker, more diverse and more original side of Routakehä.

 

The EP was recorded at Noisecamp Studios, Turku, Finland in February 2011. This recording is Routakehä’s last that features singer/guitarist Timo Keränen, who left the band shortly after the recordings.

 

The new EP includes songs:

2.Ei palautusoikeutta (Engl. ”No right to return”)
3.Lapsi, sormus ja sudet (Engl. ”The child, the ring and the wolves”)

3.3.2011 NEW GIGS
Four new shows added to Gigs section. Looks like we will have quite a gig filled spring!

 

20.2.2011 ROUTAKEHÄ AND SINGER/GUITARIST TIMO KERÄNEN PART WAYS, NEW LINE UP READY FOR LIVE SHOWS
Timo Keränen, singer/guitarist and founding member of Routakehä has left the band. There is no big drama behind the decision, but it was made in full understanding within the both parties. Keränen’s and other members of the band's goals and motivation of the band began to be in such different levels, that difficult decisions needed to be made.

 

Routakehä started to prepare the new line-up right after Keränen had decided to leave the band. The new singer and guitarist were actually found quite easily. From now on the guy behind the mic will be Routakehä’s long term gig-bassist Aapo Grönlund, who will now be in charge of both vocal and bass duties. The new Routakehä guitarist is Roope Raittinen, band members old friend who also plays guitar for the band Sataratas. Routakehä has already been practicing a good while with the new line-up and is ready for some serious live action!

 

Timo Keränen’s last show as the frontman of Routakehä will be held in band’s hometown Laitila on the 5th of March. The show will be private, planned for friends and biggest fans of the band. In this show the band will play pretty much every single song they have ever written. All other shows confirmed for this spring will be played with the new line-up.

 

At the moment Routakehä is preparing a new EP “Kaikkien alkujen loputtua” (Engl. After the ending of all beginnings) that will be released in April 2011. This EP will be Routakehä’s final record featuring Timo Keränen as a singer and guitarist.

 

 

19.2.2011 NEWS ABOUT THE NEW CD, ABOUT THE FUTURE AND SOME MORE GIGS
Finally all the instruments and vocals have been recorded for the upcoming Routakehä EP! The new cd will be released in the beginning of April. The name of the EP, songtitles and more info will be announced a couple weeks later.

8.1.2011 NEW YEAR, NEW PLANS
The year 2010 is now behind us, and what a year we had! We played 22 shows in six countries, made a bunch of new songs and promoted the band as much as we could!

 

It's been quite quiet here in the internet for a while from our behalf, but a lot of things have happened in the Routakehä camp during these past weeks, and a lot is still going on. We are constantly confirming new shows for the spring, from Finland and abroad. We are also working on full speed with the new EP and it will be released this spring. Bigger and more informative update will be released during the next month!

 

We also want to express our deepest gratitude to all those people who helped us to make year 2010 as good as it was! Let's make this year at least as good as last year was:)

 

 

2.10.2010 MORE GIGS!
With one weeks notice Routakehä was called to fill-in for one cancelled band in Euras annual Bandmarathon on Saturday 9.10. So, like last year, Routakehä will rage the stage of Työväentalo Onnela for one tight 30 minutes. Our playing time is 17.00-17.30. Bandmarathon is age-limitless and alcohol-free happening, ticket price is 4 euros.

 

Also two more gigs in Estonia have been added to our Baltic tour in November, so Routakehä and Kathaarsys will also conquer the cities of Pärnu and Tarto. You can check more info from Gigs section!

 

 

8.9.2010 ROUTAKEHÄ TO DO A SMALL TOUR IN THE BALTICS!
We are proud to announce, that in the beginning of November our crew will hop onto a ferry and head towards the Baltic countries! We will play shows in Estonia, Letonia and Lithuania. We will do this tour with our good Spanish friends from the band Kathaarsys. We are really looking forward to get our asses back on the road:) Check further info about the tour from Gigs section!

 

 

18.8.2010 GREETINGS FROM PORTUGAL/SPAIN AND SOME FUTURE PLANS
We survived alive from the tour in Portugal/Spain and we can tell you that the tour was awesome! Flights and all the other travelling went fluently and the gigs were all simply great! The feedback we got was very positive and the local people really seemed to enjoy the shows. Our tour partner Kathaarsys was an awesome band formed by some of the nicest, most friendly people we have ever met! As promised earlier, our collaboration with Kathaarsys will continue in October, when they come to play a small tour in Finland. Check the updated gig places and dates from Gigs section.

 

We are also sad to announce that the gig in S-Osis Turku scheduled to October has been cancelled from the organizers part.

 

Despite of the small tour in October we won't be playing gigs this autumn, but we will be concentrating on rehearsing and recording new songs. The new Routakehä EP will propably contain five songs and it will be realeased early 2011!

 

19.07.2010 TOUR IN PORTUGAL/SPAIN WITHOUT A BASS PLAYER
We are sad to announce, that our gig bassist Aapo Grönlund won't be joining us on the upcoming tour in Portugal/Spain next week. A while ago Aapo told us, that due to some unfortunate happenings he was forced to cancel the whole trip. We tried our best to find a stand in bassist, but due to lack of time and stupid airline policies we were not able to find a suitable guy. So we had no choice, but to decide that we will make the tour without a bass player.

 

Routakehä's policy has always been that we will NEVER cancel gigs unless it's absolutely necessary. So we added more low tunes to the guitars, arranged some stuff differently and focus to make the live show even more extreme than before. We'll promise to do our best despite of the crappy circumstances, and put on on a kick ass metal show for all the Portugese and Spanish people:)

14.06.2010 ROUTAKEHÄ TO DO A MINI-TOUR IN PORTUGAL/SPAIN!
We are glad to announce, that in this July we will play our first gigs outside the Finnish borders. The tour includes alltogether four gigs: two in Portugal, one in Gibraltar and one in Spain. We will play all the gigs together with a Spanish progressive black metal act Kathaarsys. They are are a fuckin' kickass band so be sure to check them out: www.myspace.com/kathaarsys

 

Needless to say we are really excited about this! For a Finnish band singing in their native language this is a huge opportunity. We will be forever grateful for our friends in Kathaarsys for making this happen! We can also assure you that this isn't the end of our Finnish-Spanish collaboration, so stay tuned folks;)

15.05.2010 CANCELLATIONS, A GIG AND A COUPLE OF REVIEWS!
Unfortunately the gig in Harjavalta at Live Rock Cafe got cancelled, because the whole gig place got shut down. One new gig confirmed for next autumn, in October we will play in S-Osis, Turku. Check further details in Gigs section! Also two new reviews added to Music section!
